Recordings of a lecture held at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, Montréal, Nov. 2, 2000. André Lortie discusses the sometimes conflicting needs of public space and the need to move people through and around cities. The event was the second in a series of lectures entitled "L'État de la ville" = "The State of the City", presented as a compliment to the exhibition "Villes en mouvement" = "Cities in motion", held at the CCA Nov. 15, 2000-Apr. 1, 2001.
